Sights of the Odessa region

The sights of the Odessa region tell us that Odessa was not founded during the time of the Russian Empire and Catherine the Great. Among the sights of the Odessa region there are Scythian gold, artifacts from Ancient Egypt, ancient Greek cities and Golden Horde fortresses, Ottoman toponymy, churches of Swiss colonists, ancient cemeteries of Zaporozhye Cossacks. The army of the father of Alexander the Great of Macedonian king Philip left our region after agreeing on the supply of horses, riders and grain in exchange for gold. Emperor Trajan strengthened the borders of the Roman Empire here. But the main attraction of the Odessa region is undoubtedly the amazing nature and original culture of the people living here.
